The Luxury Family Suite, and the rules that come with children

The Luxury Family Suite is the second of the two suite types on River Cree's Stay page. Like the others it appears only as a video. The resort has not published its size, bed configuration or how many guests it sleeps, so everything specific has to come from the hotel when you ask.

Children at River Cree: the rules

Since 29 July 2024 the resort has allowed minors into all non-gaming areas: the hockey rinks, the restaurants and community events in The Venue. Its notice sets four conditions. Anyone under 18 must always be with an adult. Minors may not enter the gaming floor or any gaming area. They may not loiter in the areas around gaming, because the permission covers only access to the rinks, restaurants and The Venue. And River Cree shows remain 18+. The casino house rules add that authorities will be contacted if children are left unattended on casino property.

What a family can do without the casino

• The indoor pool and whirlpool.
• Public ice and drop-in skating at the Twin Rinks, plus the Learn 2 Skate programme for children.
• The Kitchen, a family restaurant with a kids menu; Tap 25 has one too.
• The free shuttle to West Edmonton Mall every 30 minutes — the mall's own attractions include World Waterpark and Galaxyland.

Questions to ask

• How many beds, of what size, and how many people the suite takes.
• Whether a crib or rollaway is available.
• The route from the suite to the pool and restaurants without passing gaming areas — the resort mentions a map of permitted and prohibited zones.
• Whether the suite has a kitchenette beyond the microwave and mini fridge every room has.

Coming in 2027

The expansion includes a new pool with two waterslides and a large hot tub, according to STAY Magazine and GlobalData. It is not open yet.
