The Prairie Stay Courier covers a single hotel: River Cree Resort and Casino on Enoch Cree Nation, at the western edge of Edmonton. It is laid out like a newspaper because it works like one — a front page, sections, a journal of dated reports and a corrections policy.
How we gather facts
We read the resort's own pages one by one and record the date each was last changed. We add tourism listings, the websites of the Nation and of nearby attractions, provincial bodies for responsible gambling, trade press and the guest-review platforms we can open. Every page ends with its sources. If we could not find a fact, we say the resort does not publish it rather than guessing.
When sources disagree
They often do. The resort's own pages give two airport times, two event-space totals and two sets of casino counts. We print both, name the page each came from and, where it helps, add our own measurement with the method stated — our drive times, for example, come from the OSRM router without traffic.
What we have not done
We have not stayed at the hotel for this edition, and we do not present opinions as if we had. Our verdict is a reading of the published record and of public guest reviews.
Illustrations
The pictures in this paper are illustrations drawn for it in a two-colour print style. They are not photographs of River Cree and do not show its real buildings, rooms or staff. Each one is captioned to say so.
Independence
We are not the resort's website and are not run or endorsed by the resort or by Enoch Cree Nation. How we are paid is set out on how we earn. Domain, registrar and hosting are stated in the footer.
Corrections
If something here is wrong or out of date, write to [email protected] with the page and the source. We correct facts promptly and note the change on the page.
