The Venue — also called the River Cree Entertainment Centre — is the resort's concert hall. Its capacity runs from 500 to 2,500 depending on how the floor is set; the capacity chart gives 18,000 square feet with a stage, 2,079 seats in a theatre layout and 1,200 at banquet tables. The hotel overview says it hosts more than 70 concerts and events a year. Guests enter through the main entrance.
Tickets
Ticketmaster is the only authorised seller. The River Cree box office, at the Casino Players Club, is open every day from 10 am to midnight and takes debit and credit cards only. Picking up tickets there needs the order number and government ID. All sales are final. The resort warns that tickets bought from resellers may be refused at the door. Fanatic Packages — premium seats, a photo with the artist and two drink tickets — are sold in pairs and collected at Will Call at least 30 minutes before the photo slot.
Age
Every listing on the calendar says "Must be 18+". The FAQ says minors are strictly prohibited from shows unless an event says otherwise. Since July 2024 under-18s may attend community events in The Venue with an adult — markets and similar — but not River Cree shows.
At the door
- All bags are searched; bigger items are refused.
- One entrance and exit; re-entry between the casino and The Venue by hand stamp and ticket scan.
- No professional cameras, selfie sticks, detachable lenses or video recorders; photography only where an event allows it.
- No outside food or drink; no smoking, including e-cigarettes; no weapons, including pocket knives; no gang colours.
- Free coat check at the north entrance, across from Embers.
Inside
Two main bars serve the floor, with beer tubs in places. The VIP balcony sits directly above the showroom entrance; ticket holders get a wristband from security at the foot of the stairs, and the balcony has private washrooms, its own bar and numbered lounge chairs at high-top tables. There is no elevator or lift — access is by two flights of stairs. Staff are trained under Alberta's ProServe programme and The Venue is Best Bar None accredited.
Accessible seating
Guests who need help entering, being seated or leaving are asked to contact The Venue before the show on 780-930-2562 or at [email protected]. Accessible seating is bought through Ticketmaster's "Accessible Request Tickets" option or at the box office, per person, with up to three paid companions seated together. Remember the balcony has no lift.
After the show
Unfinished drinks can be taken into the casino; food is in the casino too. If your ticket was lost, Ticketmaster can reload it or the box office can reprint it, which deactivates the old barcode. And the hotel is a corridor away — see our concert-night plan.
