River Cree's restaurant page now says simply "Now Open for Lunch & Dinner!" The path there took longer than planned, and the reports along the way say a good deal about what the restaurant was meant to be.
The plan
In February 2026 the resort's CEO, Vik Mahajan, told CFWE radio that the restaurant would seat more than 250 guests, that a year-round patio was part of the construction, and that Indigenous cuisine inspired by Enoch Cree Nation would appear on the menu, developed with Gordon Ramsay's team. He said the resort was targeting a July 2026 opening and that Ramsay might appear on or soon after opening day. He also mentioned a partnership for culinary students from NAIT.
The opening
On 11 September 2026 CDC Gaming reported that River Cree would officially launch the restaurant the following Monday, 14 September, naming beef wellington, lobster risotto and sticky toffee pudding among the dishes, and noting that the seven other Hell's Kitchens were all in the United States. CTV Edmonton reported the opening that week.
What the resort publishes now
Lunch daily from noon to 2 pm and dinner from 4 to 11 pm; lunch, dinner, prix fixe and dessert menus; phone 780-930-2615 and [email protected]. The Dine page calls it the first Hell's Kitchen in Canada and names Beef Wellington and Sticky Toffee Pudding as signatures from the show.
Why it matters for the hotel
A destination restaurant on the property changes who stays. Before, the overnight guest was usually a concert-goer or a hockey family. Now a dinner booking is reason enough for a room, particularly for guests driving in from outside Edmonton. Our Hell's Kitchen page has the planning detail.
